About AR

Anthem Revival is a modern rockband consisting of singer/songwriter Tommy Henriksen and guitarist and producer Åsmund Jensen, in addition to extremely talented, hired guns when the occasion calls for it. The band makes music, that for the most part is uplifting and relevant in todays current environment.

AR-songs are mostly about experiences, observations and philosophical quandaries of life, love, connection, mental health, religion and politics.

“The most important thing for us, is that our songs can be relatable in some sense. That they connect with something within the person listening.”

Åsmund:

Åsmund started his musical journey at a young age, when he on a fateful day picked up an acoustic guitar, mostly out of curiosity, and found that it moved something within him. The guitar became his weapon of choice in the hunt for the perfect melody, even though he has added many instruments to his arsenal as the years have passed.

Tommy:

Tommy began chasing his musical dragon after one day figuring out he could hit notes many of his peers could not. Before that he spent much of his youth only singing in solace, not confident that what he was expressing would ever see the light of day. In later years he has focused even more on writing, but keeps on singing his heart out to anyone who will lend him an ear.

The band slowly formed during the pandemic, as a way of dealing with the chaotic situation at hand. Åsmund and Tommy exchanged song-ideas, and soon they would have more than a few new demos recorded. They would recieve input from former band-mates, and they began planning what the future might hold for a rockband with great songs, but no stage-experience during the last years. 

 - The future is bright and we tend to aim for the stars. There's no other way to deal with the ever recurring feeling of wanting to get back out there and play for an audience and having our songs heard by the people out there in the big world. We might be older, but hopefully we're a bit wiser and more ready than ever to get out there and show'em what we've got.
